Christmas Dinner with Friends

December 17, 2017

Hosting dinner parties is one of my favorite things to do. Last night we had two of our closest friends and their families over for an annual Christmas dinner with the kids.

I love making things warm and cozy, especially around the holidays. But, at the same time I want to be present and enjoy the company so I kept things super simple.

We had an adult secret santa grab bag and one for the kids. Paul nailed my gift by getting me Rae Dunn "Merry" and "Christmas" mugs and Jesse was surprised with a Duke hoodie. Dinner was delicious and everyone brought yummy sides.

Here is a tiny glimpse of the dresser Jesse and I hacked from IKEA. If you follow along my Instagram stories, you saw a little behind the scenes of how it was done. I am absolutely in love with the finished product, not to mention the Fresh Balsam candle burning on top. I used to be such a cinnamon girl around the holidays but this year have been becoming obsessed with pine.

These Hot Chocolate Shots tasted really good! I adjusted the recipe a bit and used chocolate vodka, garnished with a tiny candy cane and served them on a platter.

I hope you all have a wonderful holidays spending time with friends and family too!
