With spring being only a few days away (yay for warmer weather, open windows, fresh flowers and sunshine) - I love that I can change the largest focal point in our sunroom, the shanty scroll, to match a season. I have two scrolls from Cottonwood Shanty (O' Holy Night and Break Bread) so when she mentioned a small collab on the Fresh Flower Market one I had been eyeing up - I got crazy excited and obviously, the inspiration for our room.
I wanted to add some texture into the room so I picked up a muted grey table runner (no I don't iron out the wrinkles lol) and some white tweed chargers. This space is an incredibly versatile part of our home and I wanted to bring the feel of outdoors inside as much as possible.
Usually I start growing my herbs around this time (mint, rosemary, basil, sage and parsley) but with having our kitten Charlie this spring I decided to add some cat mint and grass too. It seriously looks like a garden greenhouse in here, but I'm not complaining and is why our scroll is incredibly fitting for the room. Harlow helped me patina all the terra-cotta planters and I love incorporating things in our home that has the mark of her tiny hands, imperfections and all.
I'm sure as the weather starts to break more window sills will fill with flowers and plants but it's nice to be surrounded with some fresh life after the cold of winter. Brody is already adamant we grow a sunflower (he is stuck on this particular flower and last year we couldn't seem to grow one for the life of us - so any tips??? please??? lol)
Go check out the beautiful scrolls Cottonwood Shanty has to offer to add a touch of farmhouse charm to your homes too!
