Happy Birthday, Brody

Brody is 7 today, yet he feels so much older and wiser than that. Just over the weekend as I'm rooting through the fridge, Brody comes up next to me frantically searching for water (which he really never drinks). "They told me I need to drink water", he says. "Wait. Who told you to drink water??", and he replies very simply "the news". Laughing, I ask exactly when he watches the news and his response was "When I wake up each morning. Today will be very hot so stay hydrated mom"

Brody's Jurassic 6th Birthday Party

This year Brody decided to have a Jurassic themed birthday. We tossed the idea back and forth with having a big party inviting all his friends and Kindergarten class (which Brody REALLY wanted) but, unfortunately with summer birthdays there are quite a few family vacations and plans which make for difficult attendance plus some home issues (our central air was on the fritz) -- that ultimately decided on us keeping the party intimate (like little Low's) just having our closest friends families over.  These six kids have been around each other since birth and it's incredibly sweet to watch their friendships develop and grow especially since all of us parents were initially friends first.

Christmas Dinner with Friends

Hosting dinner parties is one of my favorite things to do. Last night we had two of our closest friends and their families over for an annual Christmas dinner with the kids.
